Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree In Business Administration, Law, or related field is preferred • Additional qualification in law/ or Procurement especially for a candidate with a degree in Business Administration Is a must. • At least three (3) years paralegal experience In Law firms, or In a similar position is preferred • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite(Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel) • Excellent analytical skills, strict adherence to compliance laws and legal requirements • Solid verbal and written communication skills with all levels of management
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, your duties will include: • Serving as a liaison between internal and external parties during contract development and negotiation stages. • Negotiating terms, conditions and pricing with external parties in consultation with the University Legal Office, user departments and Procurement Management Unit. • Drafting/preparing contracts and contract documents that meet needs of internal stakeholders. • Working with Legal Office, user departments and all relevant stakeholders to ensure contracts are compliant with the relevant University rules as well as other legal guidelines. • Negotiating, within the terms and conditions of the contract, solutions to conflicts/problems arising in case of poor performance or non-compliance with contractual obligations.
• Monitoring all contract deadlines and conditions to ensure timelines are kept and all relevant payments are made. • Establishing and maintaining schedules for on-going contracts, managing on-going supplier contracts from a procurement perspective and maintaining repositories of procurement documentation and supplier contracts. • Analysing potential risks that contract changes may pose to the University. • Generating reports on current status of existing contracts and current contract processes. • Assisting and acting as alternate to the Assistant Buyer — Tendering, in the tendering process. • Co-ordinating all supplier communication and supplier relationship management (SRM) issues.
