Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of layout plans for residential, commercial, institutional, industrial and other uses.
- Preparation and updating of Master and Local Plans in terms of the Regional, Town and Country Planning Act (29.12).
- Coordinate valuation and assessment of property.
- Development Control.
- Processing subdivision of land, change of use and special consent applications.
- Coordinate Land surveys with the Surveyor General’s Office.
- Surveying the area and identifying the areas that have development potential.
- Preparation of planning guidelines and sanctioning permits for development in the town.
- Preparation of Town Planning Reports.
- Advising Council on Town Planning matters.
Requirements
- A Degree in Rural and Urban Planning or equivalent from an accredited university.
- Membership of the Zimbabwe Institute of Regional and Urban Planners (ZIRUP).
- A relevant Master’s degree is an added advantage.
- At least 3 years of working experience in a spatial planning position in the public sector.
- Local Government experience is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of GIS, AutoCAD, 3D draughting software.
- Have a sound knowledge of the preparation of traffic design, Town Planning Layouts, and draughting.
- A citizen of Zimbabwe.
- No criminal record. (Attach police clearance certificate).
- At least 30 years and above.
- Clean Class 4 driver’s license.
