Chief Executive Officer

  • Leads in conjunction with the Board, the development and review of the company’s short, medium and long term strategies with regards to sustainable forestry, sawmilling, value addition, finance, and human capital management in order to grow shareholder value
  • Sits in relevant Board Committees and provides regular, and accurate advice/update and information to the Board, management and other stakeholders
  • Leads to the profitable attainment of budgeted annual planting and associated forestry processes targets, production volumes and sales revenues through a team of dedicated and motivated employees.
  • Sets and reviews performance targets ‘and-budgets for departments, teams and individuals.
  • Ensures optimum capacity utilisation of plant and equipment
  • Grows and develops local and export markets

 

  • Oversees the timeous and accurate financial and operations reporting
  • Develops and implements effective internal controls, budgets, systems, standard operating procedures, quality and environmental standards
  • Ensures adequate working capital and CAPEX funding for the business growth and survival
  • Develops and implements innovative strategies for managing cash flows, revenue streams and costs containment for profitability
  • Ensures adherence to good corporate governance throughout the value chain and operations
  • DevelopS appropriate organisational designs and structures complete with relevant staffing decisions premised on effectively driving the mission, vision,and core values.
  • Leads the corporate social responsibility programmes and ensures statutory and regulatory compliance.
  • Represent the company in high level negotiations, business transactions, industry bodies and key events.

MINIMUM PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

The person we seek should be a self-motivated goal getter, business leader. entrepreneur. and und strategist with a proven track record for achieving high impact results who in addition should meet the following minimum criteria:

  • A first degree (B.Sc. In Business Administration. B.Sc. In Strategic Management, or B.com. Management) from are cognised academic institution
  • Relevant Masters’ degree is a distinct advantage
  • Functional knowledge of commercial forestry, timber processing and value addition process will be added advantage
  • Ability to interpret financial statements and glean value
  • 5 years’ experience at senior management level
  • Outstanding In; creative, interpersonal, presentation, and report writing skills with the ability to eloquently communicate and negotiate at all levels
  • Honesty and integrity with the ability to foster a professional business culture
  • Clean class 4 drivers’ licence
  • At least 40 years old
  • No criminal record

REMUNERATION

A remuneration package commensurate with education and experience will he communicated to the successful candidate.
