We began humanitarian and developmental work in Zimbabwe from 2002 having gradually evolved from emergency response to long-term development. We are looking for a suitably qualified, highly competent and motivated Human Resources and Administration Intern to be part of the GOAL Zimbabwe team at our Harare Office on a fixed term basis. General Description of the Role
Reporting to the Human Resources and Administration Manager, the Human Resources and Administration Intern will be mainly responsible for assisting in maintaining the human resource database and all employee records and files. The incumbent will be responsible for completing assigned reporting functions involving attendance statistics, termination, hire and transfer data, as well as assisting in onboarding new employees.
Summary of Key Duties
Managing the recruitment inbox – responding to all speculative applications and agencies as appropriate and passing CV’s on for further consideration; Assist in the production of job descriptions and identifying key competencies for each role, ensuring that all members of staff have a job description; Support all recruitment ensuring it is completed in a timely manner; Manage the collation of payroll information and assist with all salary queries from staff; Coordinate the first day HR induction for all new joiners, transfers, maternity/paternity returners, etc. ensuring they receive the appropriate level of induction; Carryout reception duties including making and answering phone calls, welcoming visitors, booking meetings etc; Assist in probationary and performance reviews for staff and support on any necessary action arising from performance or conduct issues; Manage all aspects of leave processes on the online leave tracker ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed; Assist in the administration and maintenance of the GOAL online learning website for all employees and keeping a record of all training achieved by fee earners; Ensure that all staff personnel changes are documented and updated and that all HR filing is up-to-date; Respond to ad hoc HR queries on a day-to-day basis
Person Specifications (Attributes and Qualifications)
A Diploma or Degrees in Human Resources, Administration, Psychology or equivalent; Good knowledge of latest developments within employment legislation; Exceptional interpersonal skills, demonstrating confidentiality, discretion and professionalism in all dealings; A self-starter, able to demonstrate high levels of initiative and motivation, but also work closely with other team members and displaying trust and loyalty; Ability to manage assigned tasks in an assertive, efficient and timely manner; A good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word and HR database skills; Excellent attention to detail; Ability to work under pressure, with minimum supervision
