POSITION: SENIOR SUPERINTENDENT (1 POSITION)
GRADE: 6
REPORTING TO: PRODUCTION ENGINEER
LOCATION: MORTON JAFFRAY WATER WORKS
DEPARTMENT: HARARE WATER
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill in the above vacant position in the Production division of Harare Water Department.
JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for effective smooth operation of the Morton Jaffray Waterworks by encompassing a range of responsibilities to ensure potable water is produced and transmitted to clients.
KEY RESULT AREAS
- Reduce plant downtimes
- Controls plant and operational plant schedules, recommend spares and consumable materials.
- Checks and accounts for works operational records, general administration and staff records on daily basis.
- Maintains and updates the asset register for plant and equipment.
- Recommends items for inclusion in the capital and revenue estimates
- Monitors compliance with safety regulations by staff handling hazardous chemicals and safety of operational equipment on daily basis.
- Performance monitoring and management
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Degree in Water Engineering with at least five (5) years experience or /Higher National Diploma in Water and Wastewater Management with at least ten (10) years experience or Equivalent
- At least five (5) years in Supervisory position in regards to water production system
- A clean class 4 drivers licence is mandatory
