EXECUTIVE DRIVER – ulendo

Our client is seeking a highly professional and experienced Executive Driver to provide safe, reliable, and discreet transportation for executives and visiting guests. The role has a close-protection dimension, requiring strong situational awareness, physical readiness, discretion, a commitment to the safety and security of the executive, passengers, and the vehicle. The ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge of local routes, defensive driving skills, sound judgement, and the flexibility to accommodate executive schedules, official engagements, and travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, punctual, and professional transportation for executives to meetings, events, the airport, and other engagements.
  • Plan routes in advance, factoring in traffic, security considerations, and time sensitivity.
  • Conduct daily vehicle checks and ensure the vehicle is clean, fuelled, roadworthy, and properly serviced.
  • Comply with all traffic laws and the Company’s driving and safety policies.
  • Support the executive’s personal security during travel, including at unfamiliar or public venues.
  • Demonstrate the physical capacity to react quickly in an emergency, including shielding, escorting, or physically assisting the executive/s to safety.
  • Assist with carrying luggage, documents, or equipment as needed.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding the executive’s schedule, conversations, and movements.
  • Be available for early morning, evening, weekend, or out-of-town assignments as the executive’s schedule demands.

Requirements

  • Ordinary Level education is a minimum requirement, further training in security, defensive driving, or personal protection is an advantage.
  • Prior experience as an executive, VIP, or personal driver with traceable references is required.
  • A valid Class 4 (or higher) driver’s licence with a clean record of at least 5 years. A defensive driving certificate is an added advantage.
  • Must be able to travel at a moment’s notice, including on short domestic or international trips, as this is a core requirement of the role.
  • Demonstrable training or active participation in a martial art, combat sport, or self-defence discipline.
  • A basic first aid certification is an added advantage.
  • Well spoken, articulate, and comfortable communicating professionally with executives, clients, and visitors at all times.
