ZIMBABWE AIDS PREVENTION AND SUPPORT ORGANISATION (ZAPSO)

POST: Project Officer for Self Help Group in Shamva District Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the post of Project officer which has arisen in the organisation. The Project Officer will report to the Programme Manager.

The Project officer will:

  • Facilitate in close collaboration with the MOWAGCD in promoting the Self Help Group (SHG) concept.
  • Advocate with traditional, administrative and other leaders in the district on issues of SHG promotion to enhance social, economic and institutional development of vulnerable women in society.
  • Provide community based training to new and old SHGs on the SHG concept and roles of the CLA and Federation.
  • Develop annual, quarterly and monthly implementation work plans
  • Support leadership and Community Facilitators in SHG promotion activities, through support and supervision visits.
  • Compile and write monthly, quarterly and other activity reports for submission to KNH and ZAPSO head office.
  • Mobilise communities and women for SHG activities.
  • Document most significant change stories, human interest stories and best practices for the project.
  • Mainstream SHG promotion in all district wards.
  • Participate in the resource mobilisation activities of the organisation.
  • Any other duties assigned.

Requirements:

  • Degree in an area related to Programme Management, Social Work and Social Sciences, i.e. Degree in Sociology, Development Studies, Project Management or any relevant degree.
  • Minimum 3 years experience at professional level
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of Self Help Group concept(s).
  • Experience in managing projects at district level
  • xperience in Training, counseling or project management an asset
  • Experience and ability to interact with district leadership
  • Hands on experience working with district and ward structures is an added advantage.
  • A clean class 4 drivers’ licence is an added advantage.
  • Holder of class 3 driver’s licence is an asset
