Psychologist Intern – SOS Children’s Villages Zimbabwe

Responsibilities will include

Assist in ensuring proper admission of children into the village: Assist to ensure that deserving children are properly admitted in the village following laid out procedures; Assist social worker to ensure that newly admitted children have relevant documents such as court order, probation officer’s report, medical report, police report, AMTO, birth certificate.

Assist in providing psychosocial support for children and families in the programme: Assist in establishing and supporting youth friendly centers for psychosocial support activities; Assist in organizing psychosocial support and life skills camps/sessions/workshops for children

Sponsorship work: Assist in writing quality sponsorship stories for FBC children.

The ideal candidate should be/have

Five ordinary levels including Mathematics and English;

Studying towards Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Development Studies, Psychology, Gender on any related programme from a recognised University in Zimbabwe

Experience

Volunteering, Have understanding of social development issues such as education, health, HIV and AIDS, environmental management and gender and community dynamics

Desired personal attributes

Good report writing and verbal communication skills, Honest and hardworking, Have basic computer skills (MS word, excel and internet access).
