Project Field Assistant (Livestock) x 2

Duty station : Beitbridge (1), Gwanda (1)

Job Summary

To implement and support project livestock activities and ensure regular monitoring of the project deliverable and processes.

Key duties and Responsibilities
• Trains and monitors farmers in production, preservation, storage and bailing of fodder, livestock housing and sustainable livestock management
• Coordinate construction of livestock water krebs at ward level
• Monitors veterinary drug agro-dealership at community level and supports agro-dealers in safe storage of veterinary drugs and also support farmers on safe use of same.
• Trains farmers on livestock production and marketing
• Facilitates the set-up of demo plots at ward level and look and learn field tours at ward level
• Registers project beneficiaries
• Produces documents such as lessons learnt summaries, human interest stories.
• Compiles district statistical and narrative reports as required by the project.

Qualifications, skills and experience:
• Diploma in Agriculture or equivalent.
• A minimum of 2 Years’ experience in livestock and crop projects implementation at community level
• Good public relations, team player and able to work under strenuous conditions.
• Valid class 3 motorbike riding license is an added advantage
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to speak local languages i.e. Venda and/or Ndebele
