Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following position that has arisen at the Pig Industry Board, Arcturus station:
Piggery Manager
Reporting to the Deputy Director Technical the incumbent will be responsible for:
Duties And Responsibilities
• The piggery production operations, the supply of breeding stock to farmers and attending to their queries.
• Managing and supervising workers at the Breeding and Commercial piggery units
• Preparing weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual section reports
• Planning, monitoring and evaluating operations in the piggery units and artificial insemination centre to achieve set targets
• Maintaining herd health in the piggery units
Qualifications And Experience
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• At least a Diploma in Agriculture
• A degree in Animal Science and/or a piggery qualification will be an added advantage
• 3 or more years relevant working experience
• High computer literacy and good report writing and analytical skills
