Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on trucks and company vehicles.
- Conduct routine servicing and preventive maintenance.
- Inspect vehicles and identify potential mechanical problems.
- Repair engines, brakes, suspension, clutch, gearbox and related systems.
- Conduct roadworthiness inspections before vehicles are released.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, servicing and parts used.
- Respond to vehicle breakdowns and emergency repairs when required.
- Report motor faults and recommend appropriate repairs or component replacement.
Requirements
- National Certificate in Motor Vehicle Mechanics or equivalent.
- Journeyman Class I qualification is an added advantage.
- At least 2 years’ post-apprenticeship hands-on experience.
- Heavy vehicle experience is required.
- Valid Driver’s Licence is required.
- Strong mechanical diagnostic, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good knowledge of workshop safety, tools and equipment.
