Practical Action, an international technology development organization head quartered in the United Kingdom and with offices in Asia, Bangladesh, East Africa, Southern Africa, Latin America and Sudan, seeks to fill this position in our Agriculture Systems and Innovation Department.

Team purpose
Improve food and nutrition security for the smallholder framers using simple technologies, increasing their knowledge and access to markets.

Job purpose
Provision of transportation services to staff and designated people to all areas as instructed; carrying goods, materials and mail to required points timeously.

Key deliverables
Ensure timely licensing of vehicles; Inspect vehicles for defects and safe operating condition before, during and after trips and submit monthly written reports or as necessary; Report faults on vehicles timely so that repairs and maintenance is undertaken; Drive vehicle to and from designated destinations within the prescribed safe driving time; Report all accidents and incidents involving vehicles on time; Maintain up to date records required for compliance with Practical Action including mileage records; Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all security, health and safety guidelines.

Key qualifications
Clean driver’s license; Valid defensive driver’s License; At least 5 ‘O’ Level passes including English; A certificate in logistics, administration/procurement is an added advantage

Key competences
Good command of written and spoken English; High degree of reading, writing and speaking of English language and ability to perform mathematical calculations; Mental ability to handle receipts, read maps, road signs and maintain record of duty status; Basic mechanical skills and knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems; Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills; Proficiency in MS office tools

Relevant Job Experience
At least five (5) years’ experience as a field/project driver.
