Our client in the motor industry is seeking a detail-oriented bookkeeper with accounting experience to oversee financial record-keeping for 4 fuel stations. The role focuses on accurate daily tracking of cash inflows and outflows, banking, expense control, and ensuring timely compliance with permit and ZIMRA tax requirements

Key Responsibilities
- 1. Daily Cash Management: Record and reconcile all cash, card, and mobile money transactions for each station.
- 2. Banking: Prepare bank deposits, manage bank runs, and perform weekly bank reconciliations for all 4 stations.
- 3. Expense Tracking: Capture and classify all station expenses including fuel purchases, salaries, maintenance, and utilities.
- 4. Sales & Stock Reconciliation: Reconcile daily sales reports with dip readings, pump readings, and POS reports to identify variances.
- 5. Compliance: Monitor due dates for all operating permits, trading licenses, and local authority fees.
- 6. ZIMRA Compliance: Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE, QPDs, and other statutory returns accurately and on time.
- 7. Reporting: Produce weekly cash position reports and monthly profit & loss summaries per station for management review.
- 8. Petty Cash: Manage and reconcile petty cash floats at each station.
- 9. Internal Controls: Flag any discrepancies, shortages, or irregular transactions immediately to management.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Bookkeeping.
- Minimum 2 years bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in retail, fuel, or FMCG.
- Working knowledge of ZIMRA tax processes including VAT, PAYE, and Income Tax.
- Proficient in Excel and accounting software such as QuickBooks, Pastel, or Odoo.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between stations
- Studying towards ACCA is an added advantage
