Field / District Officers (Voluntary positions) x6 – Access to Justice for Girls and Women with Disabilities: Leonard Cheshire Disability Zimbabwe
Deadline: 24 August 2018 (11am Zimbabwe Time)

Locations:  Mt Darwin, Mutoko, Chipinge, Chiredzi, Bulilima and Hurungwe

Key Responsibilities

  • To identify and report or refer cases of violence against girls and women with disabilities (GWWD) in the district;
  • To coordinate and facilitate the involvement of disability experts in cases involving GWWD. This includes ensuring that all cases received are properly and promptly attended to by a disability expert as may be necessary per each case until their conclusion;
  • To coordinate provision of logistical support and home visits as necessary for cases in your district;

  • To personally respond and attend to cases as they come up to establish or provide the required assistance and make referrals where necessary;
  • To create and maintain a complete database of people/beneficiaries reached by the Access to Justice for GWWD project. This includes creating and regularly updating the individual case files and gathering feedback from beneficiaries and other stakeholders as well as keeping complete registers for all project activities;
  • To lead district level logistical arrangements for community activities such as: Community awareness campaigns and sensitization of Community Leaders, Training of GWWD, Formation and strengthening of support groups;

  • Facilitate regular GWWD support group meetings;
  • Liaise with local/district stakeholders on the project and linking up GWWD support groups with these stakeholders;
  • Represent the project and the organization at district level including attending crucial meetings such as the Gender Council Meetings, Child Protection Meetings, District Council Meetings, Victim Friendly System Sub-committee meetings;
  • To attend to any other professional and ethical duties as may be assigned by the superiors

Required Qualifications and Competencies

  • At least a post-secondary education qualification preferably in the following subject areas Social Work, Development Studies, or other relevant social studies;
  • Must be resident in the respective district of choice (the districts are Mt Darwin, Mutoko, Chipinge, Chiredzi, Bulilima and Hurungwe);
  • Knowledge in project planning, monitoring and report writing;

  • Any prior post graduate experience will be an added advantage;
  • Good command of Microsoft Office especially Word and Excel;
  • Must be a team player who can work collaboratively with other stakeholders;
  • Must demonstrate and model values consonant to the child welfare sector;
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision and to perform multi-tasks;
  • Qualified females with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply
