Key Responsibilities
- Diagnostics & Repairs: Perform advanced troubleshooting, fault-finding and repairs on high-capacity diesel engines, transmissions (manual and automatic), and sophisticated hydraulic systems.
- Fleet Maintenance: Oversee the mechanical integrity of a diverse fleet, including yellow plant machinery (excavators, graders, loaders, TLBs, compactors, generators, and heavy tipper trucks, etc.).
- Preventative Maintenance: Implement, execute, and monitor routine preventative maintenance schedules and multi-point checklists to eliminate breakdown risks on-site.
- Major Overhauls: Conduct complete strip-downs, rebuilds, and overhauls of engines, powertrain systems, and hydraulic cylinders according to OEM standards.
- Breakdown Response: Rapidly respond to site breakdowns to perform emergency field service repairs, ensuring ‘zero re-do’s’ and minimal disruption to construction timelines.
- Compliance & Safety: Adhere strictly to company health, safety, and environmental (SHE) protocols, maintaining a clean and hazard-free workshop or field environment.
- Record Keeping: Maintain detailed workshop logs, component failure reports, and parts inventory trackers.
Requirements
- Recognized Trade Test Certificate (Class 1) in Diesel Plant Fitting (DPF).
- Minimum of 10 years of post-qualification experience explicitly within the road construction or civil engineering industry.
- Proven, hands-on track record working with major earthmoving brands (e.g., CAT, Volvo, Bell, Case, Bull and heavy commercial tipper trucks).
