A skilled, reliable, and safety-conscious Heavy Truck Mechanic to join a maintenance team responsible for keeping a fleet of commercial trucks operational through fault diagnosis, routine servicing, and complex repairs of mechanical and electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy-duty trucks using diagnostic tools and manual methods
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (oil changes, brake checks, tire rotations, filter replacements)
- Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
- Maintain accurate service records and report defects or recurring issues
- Assist in sourcing parts, estimating repair costs, and advising on fleet upgrades
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and workshop procedures
- Train junior mechanics or apprentices where needed
Requirements
- Minimum National Craft Certificate (NCC) in Automotive Engineering or equivalent
- At least 3 years’ hands-on experience repairing heavy commercial vehicles
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of electronic diagnostic systems (OBD-II, J1939, CAN bus preferred)
- Valid driver’s license (Class B or higher)
- Physically fit — able to lift heavy parts, work in confined spaces, and stand for long periods
