Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy-duty trucks using diagnostic tools and manual methods
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (oil changes, brake checks, tire rotations, filter replacements)
• Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
• Maintain accurate service records and report defects or recurring issues
• Assist in sourcing parts, estimating repair costs, and advising on fleet upgrades
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and workshop procedures
• Train junior mechanics or apprentices where needed

Requirements

• Minimum National Craft Certificate (NCC) in Automotive Engineering or equivalent
• At least 3 years’ hands-on experience repairing heavy commercial vehicles
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of electronic diagnostic systems (OBD-II, J1939, CAN bus preferred)
• Valid driver’s license (Class B or higher)
• Physically fit — able to lift heavy parts, work in confined spaces, and stand for long periods
