POSITION: PRINCIPAL SYSTEM OFFICER-ICT SECURITY AND GOVERNANCE (1 POSITION)
GRADE: 5
LOCATION: ROWAN MARTIN BUILDING
DEPARTMENT: OFFICE OF THE TOWN CLERK
REPORTING TO: HEAD ICT

JOB OBJECTIVE

This job exists to guarantee the developing, implementing, and maintaining of a robust ICT security program that protects organizational assets, data, and systems from threats while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

KEY RESULT AREAS AND DUTIES

• Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures in alignment with industry best practices and organizational needs

• Identify, assess, and manage ICT security risks, including cyber threats, data breaches, and information leaks

• Ensure compliance with industry regulations Standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST), and internal policies. Conduct internal and external security audits and report on findings

• Implement and maintain security controls (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection systems, access controls) to protect systems and data

• Develop and implement incident response plans and procedures to handle security breaches or incidents

• Develop and deliver security awareness training to employees to promote a security-conscious culture

• Continuously monitor ICT systems and networks for security threats, vulnerabilities, and compliance gaps

• Work with other departments and stakeholders to ensure security practices are understood and implemented

• Stay updated on the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience

• Five years of experience in ICT security, risk management, or related field Microsoft MCSE or equivalent certifications

• Microsoft Certifications i.e. CISSP, CISM, CEH, or other relevant certifications

• ISO 27001 Certified or equivalent an added advantage

• Membership in the Computer Society of Zimbabwe
