A leading, large security services provider seeks a highly qualified, analytical, meticulous and professional PAYROLL AUDIT AND COMPLIANCE OFFICER to join our Finance Department, reporting to the Finance Manager (and indirectly to the Human Resources Manager).
The role serves as the primary financial control gatekeeper for our high-volume payroll – independently auditing the monthly HR payroll for 100% accuracy, mitigating risk, and driving continuous improvement before and after salary disbursements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pre-Payment Verification & Audit: Reconcile final payroll batches, allowances and statutory deductions against authorised documents.
  • Risk & Field Controls: Eliminate ghost employees, overpayments and fraud via unannounced headcounts; ensure prompt removal of terminated employees.
  • Systems Development: Design, implement and upgrade internal controls to drive efficiency and eliminate bottlenecks.
  • Operational Liaison & Training: Partner with Regional/Operations Managers and Branch-In-Charges to validate attendance; train branch payroll input staff.
  • Disbursement Integrity & Tracking: Ensure 100% of active employees are paid accurately and on time; maintain a ledger of outstanding payments/adjustments.
  • Reporting: Generate monthly pre/post payroll audit reports, track branch compliance timelines, and present risk trends to the Finance Executive.

Requirements

  • Education: Degree in Finance, HR Management or Business Administration, plus IPMZ Payroll Diploma, ACCA, CIMA or CIS.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in payroll administration; high-volume payroll experience essential, security industry experience preferred.
  • Knowledge: Zimbabwean labour law, ZIMRA and NEC regulations; advanced MS Excel proficiency mandatory.
  • Attributes: Unquestionable integrity, objective judgement, analytical mindset and systems-thinking under tight deadlines.
