Are you a self-motivated IT expert interested in civic issues especially local government? A dynamic not-for-profit civic association in Harare is looking for an IT Manager who will be responsible for maintaining our IT infrastructure including daily reviewing and responding to incoming reports made by residents and responding to their concerns, aggregating information on a weekly basis to produce concise summaries and maintaining current contact information for Councillors and city officials. The IT Manager is also responsible for designing and conducting regular training sessions for residents, council and other stakeholders. In addition, the IT Manager will assist in the maintenance of the organizations website and ensure that technological tools used by the organization work smoothly to support the organization’s vision.

Technical skills needed:
We are looking for someone with a high degree of competency in Microsoft Office, good writing and communication skills, an ability to confidently conduct basic statistical analysis, and an aptitude and willingness to troubleshoot technical issues with laptops and phones as they come up.  It will be an added advantage if you are familiar with WordPress, HTML & CSS.

Activities
Maintenance of website/platform: Check resident reports and remove spam; Keep email addresses for councillors and City Officials up to date in database; Respond to resident concerns as needed on the platform; Work with IT consultant/advisor to support any additional tasks needed
Reports: Take reports from community WhatsApp groups and log them into platform; Produce weekly summaries of reports made; Work with social media consultants to produce any data/information needed for publicity campaigns; Produce any reports/statistics as needed
Stakeholder engagement: Train internal data collection teams as needed; Train other stakeholders – City Council, residents etc on use of platform; Provide information/stats/summaries from platform to various stakeholders as needed
Other: Assist with additional IT tasks as needed – maintenance of laptops and phones; Any other duties assigned by coordinator or director

Reporting to: Project Coordinator

Period: This is a six-month contract based on flexible working hours with a minimum of 60 hours per month

Remuneration: Negotiable
