Inventory Management Officer

Reporting to the Supply Chain and Administration Services Executive, the purpose of the job is to report on the Authority’s inventory by devising ways to optimise inventory control procedures, inspection of the levels of business supplies as well as ensuring adequacy of product stock for all user departments.

Key outputs

• Devise ways to optimise inventory control procedures
• Inspect levels of business supplies and identify shortages
• Ensure product stock is adequate for all user departments and cover direct demand from them
• Record daily deliveries and reconcile inventory
• Use software to monitor demand and document characteristics of inventory
• Place order to replenish stock avoiding insufficiencies or excess surplus
• Analyse data to anticipate future needs
• Evaluate suppliers to achieve cost-effective deals and maintain trust relationships
• Collaborate with stores staff and other staff to ensure business goals are met
• Report to Executive Management on stock levels and issues arising thereof;

Qualifying requirements

• A Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration/Logistics Management or equivalent
• Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (GIPS) memberships preferred
• Minimum 5 years proven working experience in inventory management.

• Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
• Ability to accurately track inventory and create reports
• Excellent organisational planning skills
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
• Reliable and trustworthy.
