Key Responsibilities
- Data management and software development for environmental issues such as air quality, waste management and aquatic ecology including water quality monitoring.
- Support the development and use of advanced database tools to streamline the organisation, evaluation and presentation of environmental data.
- Support the integration of advanced database tools with computational and geographic information system (GIS) technologies to provide high-quality, consistent, timely and cost-effective risk assessment and analysis.
- Development and implementation of data management standard operating procedures (SOPs) and electronic data deliverable (EDD) specification.
- Development of software such as web applications, Data portals, data dashboards and desktop software.
- Develop strategies for reporting, quality and compliance of data for topical environmental issues as required.
- Any other duties as may be assigned by the Director.
Requirements
- A Bachelors/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology Management, Data Management, and Data Analytics.
- Previous work experience in Environmental Data Management and/or Environmental Software development with strong analytical/ database skills.
- Programming experience in C#, Java, C++, Python.
- Experience with EarthSoft’s EQuIS Enterprise and Professional.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Access, Excel and SQL server.
- Experience with all aspects of software development lifecycle including design, development, testing and documentation.
- Excellent organisational, writing and Communication skills.
