Zimbabwe AIDS Preventing Project Trust (ZAPPT) is implementing sustainable development initiatives to improve health, safety, education, and stability outcomes for OVC, adolescents and youth affected and infected by HIV in Zimbabwe. ZAPPT is inviting a suitably qualified person
to fill the position of Finance Assistant for an Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) Project
in Chivi District.
1. FINANCE ASSISTANT
Reporting to: Finance Officer
The finance assistant will be responsible for assisting with timeous processing of payments, filling,
reconciliations and statutory returns for SPACE Project in compliance with internal control
systems in the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities
Description of Duties
Assist with timeous processing of payments for all SPACE activities.
Ensure all utilities and overheads are paid on a regular basis
Compilation of monthly Statutory returns by preparing VAT, Withholding tax and NSSA
schedules on a monthly basis.
Ensure all expenditure vouchers are filed with all required supporting documentation in
compliance with donor requirements.
Assist in reconciling cash books /Bank statements and general ledgers on a monthly basis.
Assist Finance Officer in preparation of monthly financial reports and uploading monthly
expenditure on share point.
Preparation of monthly fuel reconciliations ensuring required stock levels are maintained
to avoid disruptions and verifying vehicle logbooks for completeness.
Assist in issuing stocks and maintaining stock records
Qualifications and Experience
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
-At least a degree in Accounting or any related field coupled with at least 1 year post qualification
relevant experience.
-Familiarity with US Government grants or other donor funded programs
-Strong writing and interpersonal communication skills
-Knowledge and experience in any accounting system will be an added advantage.
