Suitably qualified, experienced and motivated candidates are invited to apply for the position of Data Science Analyst, which has arisen in Technology Services Department.

Key responsibilities

Reporting to the Enterprise Architect Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following, among others:

Building data platform and ensuring that it has a 99.9% uptime.
Extending company data with third party sources of information (e.g. social media platforms, MNOs, retailers etc.) as needed.
Designing and building relational databases for storage or processing.
Processing, cleansing and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis.
Designing and developing Big Data driven products e.g. nano / micro lending solutions.
Conducting quantitative analysis and research.
Conducting predictive modelling to increase and optimize customer experiences, revenue generation, ad targeting and other business outcomes.
Building graph models for community and influencer detection.
Configuring RTGS, CSD, SWIFT and Western Union systems in conjunction with external service providers.
Participating in the establishment and monitoring of the disaster recovery infrastructure for payment systems, T24 core banking system, Ecocash Save, Online Banking, 4Tress authentication devices, HMS, Pastel Evolution, Paynet, RTGS Gathering requirements around functionality and translating those requirements into functional mobile application solutions.

Skills and Experience

Excellent scripting skills in skills in shell, Python and/or R.
Excellent understanding of relational databases e.g. MySql, Oracle, MySql Server etc.
Excellent understanding of No-Sql databases e.g. MongoDB, Couch DB etc.
At least 2 years’ experience in similar position.
Understanding of CI/CD (Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment).
Experience with AWC/EC2, or other cloud services.

Educational Qualifications

Honours Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Equivalent.
