Job Title: Cartographer x 2

Job Grade: D3

Reporting to: Cartography Manager

Duties and responsibilities

1. Creating, editing and updating user-friendly maps that reflect current geographic conditions of the Enumeration Areas (EAs).
2. Making corresponding EA map adjustments, by frequently revising the maps.
3. Developing digital maps, that Enumerators can interact and access on a smartphone.
4. Maintenance of the map library.
5. Select and evaluate map source data for use in the preparation of any survey.
6. Working with geographical information systems (GIS) to see, model and analyse landscape features

Qualifications, experience, attributes and competences

1. Degree in Geographic Information Science /Geography.
2. Excellent knowledge of GIS software including QGIS, ILWIS, ArcGIS
3. 3 years’ experience as a Cartographer.
