Accountant

Reporting to the Registrar who is also the Chief Executive Officer of the MOPCZ. The job involves:-

• Initiating and implementing financial policies. procedures and controls supportive of the Council’s objectives in fine. strict corporate governor. principles.

• Working capital management including implementation of effective debtors management policies and cash flow management techniques.

• Investing Council’s surplus funds and ensuring that investment plans are based on adequate financial returns.

• Production of both annual capital and revenue expenditure budgets.

• Ensuring that the Council operates sound accounting systems so that the Council’s assets, liabilities, income and expenditure are adequately, accurately and timeously recorded in the books of accounts.

• Production of timely monthly management accounts and quarterly board reports.

• Setting up and implementing sound internal controls, procurement policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in Accounting and or full professional accounting qualification such as ACCA. CIS, CIMA

• Proven membership of a professional accounting body is a must.

• Over 5 years’ experience of which 3 years should be in a senior financial management role with a reputable organization.

Attributes and Skill.

• Extensive knowledge of computerized pastel accounting systems.

• Excellent managerial and communication skills

• Analytical skills and ability to work to meet strict deadlines is a must
