Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, development and implementation of accounting policies, systems and procedures.
- Advance public enterprise reforms and follow up on issues raised by the Parliamentary Public Accounts Committee and the Auditor-General.
- Develop effective public finance controls for Central Government, local authorities and State enterprises.
- Understand controls to prevent fraud, embezzlement and negligence involving public resources.

Requirements
- Certified Chartered Accountant.
- Registered Public Accountant or Auditor under the Public Accountants and Auditors Act (Chapter 27:12) for at least five years.
- At least 12 years’ experience in public sector finance, auditing or banking.
- Thorough knowledge of public finance and Public Finance Management Systems (PFMS).
- A relevant higher degree is required; a PhD is an added advantage.
- Ability to interpret accounting policies and regulations.
- Knowledge of Ministry deliverables and relevant Government development policies.
- Strong task and programme management skills.
- Ability to work independently and understand multidisciplinary issues across the public and private sectors.
