Town Planning Technician

• Reporting to the Town Planner

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• At least 5 ‘0’ levels including English Language and Maths
• Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning from a recognized institution
• A relevant degree in the field, knowledge of AUTOCARD, GIS, will be added advantages
• A thorough knowledge of the Regional, Town and Country Planning Act (Chap 29:12) and related legislation
• Possession of a clean class 4 drivers licence

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Preparations of layout plans on Municipal Land for residential, commercial, industrial and other uses.
• Preparation of proposals for Master and Local Plans in terms of the RTCP Act (Chapter 29:12)
• Preparation and production of site plans for lease applications
• Liaise with the Survey Technician in ensuring that title
• Maintenance and updating Council Land Register, survey of properties is done according to approval of Layouts subdivision and change of use registers
• Comment on subdivision and consolidation diagrams submitted in terms of Section 40 of the RTCP Act Manning of drawing office
• Preparation of Town Planning Section budgets and work plans Digitizing and mapping of all the properties under the jurisdiction of Council in GIS
• Development control in terms of the Regional, Town and Country Planning Act (Chapter 29:12)
• Any other duties assigned by the Town Planner
