Key Responsibilities
- Plan, supervise and manage mechanical systems, including plumbing, drainage, fire protection, elevators, generators, pumps, HVAC and building automation systems.
- Develop and implement preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programmes, using CMMS to monitor asset performance, maintenance history and lifecycle costs.
- Manage shopfitting, refurbishment, renovation, fit-out, construction, retrofitting and modernisation projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget and quality standards.
- Coordinate architects, consultants, contractors and service providers, ensuring compliance with specifications, SLAs, procurement requirements, timelines and contractual obligations.
- Ensure compliance with safety, fire, building and energy regulations through inspections, audits and risk assessments, and address audit findings.
- Develop and manage operating and capital budgets for maintenance, facilities upgrades and equipment replacement, while promoting energy efficiency, water conservation and sustainable practices.
- Prepare management reports and provide specialist engineering advice on maintenance, projects, assets, risk and infrastructure planning; lead technical teams and support mission-critical assignments and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification from a recognized University.
- At least five (5) years’ post-qualification experience in mechanical engineering, facilities management or building services engineering, including a minimum of three (3) years in a managerial position.
- Demonstrated experience in the successful delivery and management of plant and equipment maintenance, shopfitting, refurbishment, office fit-outs, building modernisation and infrastructure development projects.
- Experience working in high-security and mission-critical environments will be an added advantage.
