Job Summary

We require the services of an experienced Rubber Technologist to join our team. Based in Harare, the incumbent will complement a team responsible for industrial valve manufacturing and reconditioning.

Duties And Responsibilities

• The incumbent will be responsible for the following areas:-
• Repairing and testing of various valves, including but not limited to ball valves, gate valves, butterfly valves and safety relief valves.
• Interpreting engineering drawings and make recommendations on improvements to tooling, component designs and repair work.
• Carrying out maintenance and servicing of industrial valves in the workshop and across client sites within Zimbabwe and abroad.
• Using specialist equipment to complete fault-finding diagnosis to identify issues and conduct full on-site quality inspections of manufactured or reconditioned valves.
• Involved in continuous improvement of rubber technology adaptation, technical provisions and assembling instructions in line with global trends.
• Customer visits and after sales support.
• Attending to customer queries/ requests expeditiously
• Achieving team-oriented production targets set by Management.

Qualifications And Experience

The ideal incumbent should possess the following qualifications and attributes: –

• Be in possession of a Degree/ Diploma in Rubber Technology
• A minimum of two years’ working experience.
• Experience in industrial valves manufacturing will be a distinct advantage
• Analytical and technical thinking, ability to solve problems.
• Driven to provide good customer service, with good communication at all levels and able to work in a team.
• Possessing working knowledge of Safety, Health, Quality and Environmental Management systems.
• Clean Class 4 Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel frequently a must.
