Key Responsibilities
- Lead multidisciplinary engineering projects from concept and feasibility through design, execution, commissioning and handover.
- Manage capital projects, plant upgrades, infrastructure works, rehabilitation and operational improvement initiatives.
- Develop project scopes, technical specifications, feasibility assessments, cost estimates, schedules, resource plans and execution strategies.
- Coordinate engineering input across mechanical, electrical, civil, structural, process and utilities disciplines.
- Manage consultants, contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders to deliver projects within approved scope, budget, quality, safety and schedule requirements.
- Lead technical evaluations, equipment and solution selection, installation oversight, testing, commissioning, performance verification and project close-out.
- Identify and manage technical, commercial, safety and delivery risks, and implement mitigation measures.
- Ensure compliance with company HSE requirements, statutory obligations, recognised engineering standards and project governance processes.
- Report to management on project progress, costs, milestones, risks, required decisions and delivery forecasts.
Requirements
- A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial or Process Engineering, or another relevant engineering discipline.
- At least eight years of relevant post-qualification experience in project engineering or project management within heavy manufacturing, cement, mining, construction or a comparable industrial environment.
- Demonstrable experience delivering multidisciplinary CAPEX, plant or infrastructure projects from concept and design through procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
- Strong technical capability, including the ability to review engineering designs, drawings, specifications, bills of quantities, contractor proposals, schedules and budgets across multiple disciplines.
- Commercial and project management experience, including budgeting, cost control, procurement support, contractor management, risk management and reporting.
- Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
