About the Role
This role ensures quality accountability practice across the Cyclone Idai emergency programme in Zimbabwe and Malawi, supporting alignment to the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS). The role provides accompaniment and support to partners to establish community-based functioning feedback and complaints handling mechanisms, ensuring that the feedback loop is closed and the learning generated is disseminated and reflected upon throughout the partner and country programmes. The role provides in-country training and support on accountability to country programmes and partners. The post holder will focus on learning and ensuring that good practice on accountability in the Cyclone Idai response is captured and shared widely across the organisation and as appropriate.
About you
Do you have passion, knowledge, and experience to support Christian Aid in responding to Cyclone Idai in Malawi and Zimbabwe? Do you have expertise on the Core Humanitarian Standard on Quality and Accountability (CHS), and can support our partner organisations to ensure quality programming, keeping communities at the centre of our work? Will you provide our staff and partners with the capacity and skills they need to listen and respond to community feedback and adapt our programming?
Further information
This role requires applicants to have the right to work in Zimbabwe where this position is based. The role also supports our work in Malawi where frequent travel will be required. This is an urgent recruitment therefore candidate should be able to start immediately.
Contract terms: Initial contract is fixed term for 12 months. Renewal subject to performance and availability of funding.
