A local environmental NGO invites applications for suitably qualified and well experienced person to fill the position of Project Field Assistant Officer.
Job Description: Duties and rolesIdentifying and registering households to participate in the project through inclusive and gender equitable processes in collaboration with stakeholders; Promote innovative approaches to climate change adaption and facilitate implementation of adaptation strategies e.g. Climate Resilient Villages (CRV); Support in collaboration of relevant stakeholder implementation of climate resilient agricultural practices (Conservation agriculture, Agroforestry, Apiculture, seed multiplication in an integrated manner; Link and collaborate with partners at community and district level; Providing technical support on CCA investment, inclusive financial services and value chains; Organize and support formation and or capacity building of farmer groups and associations;
Organize and support formation and or strengthening of village savings groups and linking them to micro-finance institutions and other players to support livelihoods improvements; Facilitate the identification and implementation of selected value chains that enhance climate change adaptation; Monitoring and evaluating work activities at field level sites ensuring adherence to work norms; Compiling and submitting monthly & quarterly reports to the Field Supervisor; Managing relationships with stakeholders including Government line Ministries, RDCs, NGOs and private sector at District level; Promote and abide by organisational policies and procedures; Contributes to internal reports for the organisation and donor; Any other duties in line with the job as presented by the supervisor
Job SpecificationRequired Skills, Education and ExperienceMinimum of Diploma in Agriculture, Natural Resources Management, Forestry or equivalent, development studied; Good interpersonal and communication skills; Good public relations, team player and able to work under strenuous conditions; Ability and willingness to ride a motorcycle is a must; A minimum of 2 years’ experience in community mobilization and development, facilitating market linkages, Village savings and lending Groups and community natural resources management is a requirement.
