FACT Zimbabwe is a local Christian NGO implementing a USAID supported project. The project seeks to improve maternal and child health status in targeted populations in the seven districts (Buhera, Chipinge, Chimanimani, Makoni, Mutare, Mutasa, and Nyanga) of Manicaland.Position Summary The Program Officer works under the supervision of the Program Manager. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating program activities in all the 7 districts in Manicaland namely, Buhera, Chipinge, Chimanimani, Makoni, Mutare, Mutasa and Nyanga, and also fully supporting the Support Officers who will be stationed in the 7 districts to deliver adequate technical support for all community structures within the programme.
The incumbent must be able to create programme activity plans and generates day to day implementation of programme activities; Responsible for proactively engaging and networking with all project stakeholders. Together with Support Officers the incumbent must generate and maintain a data base on project beneficiaries and activities; and comply periodic project reports for submission to the Program Manager; undertakes any other duties as may be assigned by management.
University degree in Social Sciences or Gender and Policy. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal English, as well as an ability to meet deadlines and work independently; Strong writing skills are particularly important for this position; Must have at least 5years’ working experience, with four years of professional work experience in the NGO sector and field work experience.
