PROCUREMENT OFFICER
Reporting to Senior Procurement Officer
Main Responsibilities
- Executing procurement activities of the entity in accordance with budgets, Procurement policy as well as PRAZ regulations and PPDPA Act.
- Coordinating bidding processes, including pre bid meetings, clarifications, receipt and opening of bids.
- Assists in the preparation of acquisition plans for various categories
- Negotiating contractual arrangements with suppliers to ensure that value for money and excellent service levels are maintained and optimized across all categories of expenditure
- Conducting market research from a variety of sources, analyses data, identifies trends and prepares reports and recommendations.
- Contributes to the development of procurement documentation, including acquisition plan, procurement schedule. Request for offers, evaluation plan, and negotiation plan and purchase recommendation.
- Contributes to the evaluation of offers, including the development of evaluation methodology and criteria.
- Provides procurement advice to internal clients and key stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Purchasing and Supply/Procurement or equivalent
- Professional Diploma in Purchasing & Supply (CIPS, IAC or HEXCO)
- High National Diploma or Degree is an added advantage
- Clean Class 4 drivers licence is a must.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in purchasing and supply
- Experience with Public Procurement and knowledge of Quality Management systems will be an added advantage
- Working with SAP
