Procurement Manager

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the successful candidate shall inter-alia be responsible for the following:
• Developing procurement strategy and policy, Inviting tenders and evaluating suppliers,
• Negotiating with suppliers on prices
• Setting departmental objectives and targets ,
• Supervising ,coordinating and controlling store personnel,
• Developing systems and procedures for the department ,
• Ensuring training and development of department staff.
• Producing monthly, quarterly and annual procurement reports,

• Developing and maintaining client- supplier relations,
• Developing optimal supply chain process,
• Maximise equipment management,
• Ensuring optimal storage and distribution systems and technology,
• Ensure an adequate level of internal controls,
• Ensuring compliance to all procurement regulations,

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE (from accredited and reputable institutions)
• Degree in Purchasing and Supply
• Higher National Diploma in Purchasing and Supply or equivalent,
• 5 years experience in procurement and logistics,
• A professional qualification in procurement is an added advantage ,
• Highly developed interpersonal skills,
• Be a member of a recognized professional institution,
• Conversant with tender ‘procurement procedures,
• Experience in transport industry,
• Knowledge of SAP,
