Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to the coke oven battery and by-products plants.
- Monitor coal quality from various mines and recommend optimum blending ratios to ensure the production of coke quality that meets customer specifications.
- Metallurgical accounting.
- Develop and maintain process control strategies that enhance plant stability and performance.
- Lead investigations into process upsets, production losses, quality deviations and equipment performance issues.
- Lead plant improvements projects.
- Compile and keep month-end and year-end sectional reports on plant throughput, efficiencies, utilization, availability and operational unit costs.
- Collate sectional budget information and liaising with coking coal preparation sections.
- Carry out safety, health and environmental inspections.
- Ensure adherence to SHEQ standards and procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Lead, manage and provide guidance in training operations teams to ensure efficient and effective operations.
