Monitoring and Evaluation Intern: Phoebe Women’s Centre
PHOEBE was founded in 2008 to support BAME women facing domestic violence in Ipswich, Suffolk. In the last 11 years it has gone from strength to strength; and now offers free legal aid and advocacy, crisis counselling, English reading and writing classes and girls self-esteem workshops to women and girls across the county. PHOEBE’s primary source of funding is government and institutional grants that support our valuable work. Our work in the UK has been supported by the Big Lottery Fund, Suffolk Country Council and other small to large funders.
The most recent addition to PHOEBE’s offering in its Women’s Mental Health Recovery Centre in Harare, Zimbabwe, which builds on the 11-year track record working with BAME women in the UK. The centre has been able to offer therapy, Recovery College educational courses, Peer Support training and group facilitation, cooking, gardening and craft sessions for women in the area. More recently, the centre has branched out to soccer and art sessions with girls suffering mental ill-health. Our work in Zimbabwe has been funded by DFID, UK, The German Embassy, Boots for Africa, among others.
Phoebe Zimbabwe Zimbabwe is recruiting for suitably qualified candidates to fill the following internship vacancy. The primary objective of this internship is to give undergraduates and recent graduates experience in the practical aspects of their respective areas of study.
Distributing and collecting data collection tools; Data collection and data verification; Evaluations and studies; Report writing; Provide assistance on general program implementation; Carrying out project field visits and producing field visit reports.
Entry qualifications and experience
Currently studying towards a Diploma or Degree in Social Work/ Development Studies or equivalent; Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and projects to meet deadlines; Strong computer skills in a Microsoft Windows/Office environment; Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
