Job Title: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST

Job Purpose:
The position will lead the design, development, and implementation of the group’s digital transformation strategy, ensuring that the organisation evolves into a technology-enabled financial ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and execution of the Group’s digital transformation strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
Oversee the creation of integrated platforms including digital lending, agency banking, remittance, payments, and customer wallets.
Connect clients, merchants, agents, SMEs, and diaspora flows into a seamless digital financial network.
Ensure interoperability across microfinance, payment platforms, agency banking, wallets, and third-party fintech APIs.
Establish robust data infrastructure to support credit scoring, portfolio analytics, fraud detection, and business intelligence.
Digitize workflows such as loan applications, e-KYC onboarding, credit approvals, collections, and compliance reporting.
Maintain secure infrastructure, disaster recovery systems, and compliance with regulatory and data protection standards.
Develop governance frameworks, technology architecture roadmaps, vendor management, and risk management systems.
Identify and launch new fintech solutions including embedded finance, AI-driven credit scoring, micro-insurance, and cross-border remittances.
Build and manage a skilled technology workforce, nurturing innovation and technical excellence across the organization.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Information Technology or other relevant degree.
A Master’s degree in technology management, Fintech, or Digital Transformation is an added advantage.
Professional Certifications such as AWS / Cloud certifications, Cybersecurity certifications (CISSP, CEH), Agile / Scrum certification, Data analytics certifications, Fintech or digital banking certification preferred.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in technology leadership.
Experience in financial services or fintech, integrating financial systems and APIs is required.
Proven experience leading digital transformation initiatives and building digital platforms or fintech products.
Experience in the following environments is strongly preferred: digital banking, payments platforms, microfinance systems, fintech ecosystems, agency banking platforms.
Digital transformation leadership, Fintech ecosystem design and technology strategy development.
Systems architecture, API integrations, cloud computing, data analytics and cybersecurity.
Strategic thinking, innovation leadership, cross-functional collaboration, vendor negotiation.
