Fundraising Consultant
Job Description
A local Non-Governmental Organisation established in 10 years of experience working with vulnerable children living outside the family environment in Zimbabwe is seeking an experienced, self-driven, talented fundraising consultant with a proven portfolio and references to join the team on a consultancy basis. The organisation supports prevention, outreach work, drop-in centre activities, reintegration and post-reunification work with children living on the streets. The consultant will support initiatives for the growth of the organisation’s childcare and protection work through resource mobilisation from private and institutional funders.
This position reports directly to the Program Coordinator.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Develop a Fundraising and Grant Management Framework for 2019 onwards; Identify potential institutional funders and respond to calls for proposals; Support communication and compliance with existing funders; Engage private donors, volunteers for cash and in-kind support; Maintain a database of the above; Develop innovative, outside the box, fundraising initiatives compatible with the operational environment and socio-economic conditions; Develop strategies to support communities, government departments and other key stakeholders in mobilizing resources for community based care and protection work with vulnerable children.
Key Competencies
Effective communication and proposal writing skills a must; Ability to work independently in a flexible environment; Knowledge of the current fundraising; Ability to work in a team set-up; Knowledge of Zimbabwean laws and regulations.
Qualifications
A degree in Social Sciences/Marketing or Business related qualification; At least 3 years post-qualification experiences.
