What are the common day-to-day responsibilities of a Fitter UG at a platinum mine?

You will mainly install, maintain, and repair underground mechanical equipment such as conveyors, pumps, ventilation fans, and hydraulic systems. Daily work also includes fault-finding, planned maintenance inspections, and completing job cards or safety checklists before and after shifts.

How does the underground work culture and shift system operate in Zimbabwean mines?

Underground fitters usually work on a rotating shift basis, including night shift and weekend standby, because mining operations run continuously. The culture is safety-driven, with strict adherence to PPE use, pre-shift risk assessments, and teamwork under a shift supervisor or engineering foreman.

Apply through the company's official recruitment portal or email with a detailed CV, certified copies of trade certificates, and contactable references from previous mining or heavy industry jobs.
