Chevron Tobacco is seeking a commercially minded finance analyst to deliver performance analysis, financial planning, and commercial insight across procurement, processing, and export operations. The role involves applying rigorous analysis and modern analytical tools to inform better commercial and operational decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse P&L, cash flow, and balance sheet performance
- Perform variance, trend, and root-cause analysis
- Track and interpret key metrics including gross margin by grade/channel, working capital turns, and cash conversion cycle
- Prepare insightful monthly management commentary explaining what happened and why
- Build and maintain rolling forecasts and budgets
- Develop scenario and sensitivity models covering price, volume, yield, FX, and cost movements
- Support planning with benchmarking and what-if analysis
- Ensure forecasts align with funding capacity and working capital constraints
- Analyse profitability by grade, channel, customer, and processing strategy
- Support pricing, procurement, and customer decisions with margin and cash impact analysis
- Evaluate ROI and payback on capital and strategic initiatives
- Provide early warning on margin compression, liquidity constraints, and working capital pressure
- Leverage modern analytical and business intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI, advanced Excel) to analyse performance and trends
- Perform drill-down analysis from financial results to operational drivers
- Extract and structure data for advanced modelling and scenario analysis
Requirements
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related quantitative field
- 3-5 years experience in FP&A, commercial finance, or analytical finance roles
- Strong understanding of financial statements, cost behaviour, and margin dynamics
- Advanced Excel modelling capability
- Experience in commodities, manufacturing, agriculture, or export-oriented businesses is an advantage
- Comfortable working with modern analytical and business intelligence tools is an advantage
