Key Responsibilities
- Financial Monitoring of Partners Monitor partners’ financial performance and compliance with contractual, donor and Hivos requirements.
- Strengthen partners’ capacity to understand and manage assigned budgets.
- Review fund availability for disbursements.
- Consolidate partners’ executed amounts for donor financial reports.
- Evaluate partner audit results and record findings in All Solutions.
- Partner Financial Reporting Review partner financial reports against Hivos and donor requirements.
- Provide timely feedback where corrections are required.
- Assess the reasonableness of expenses through sampling.
- Verify fund availability and budget execution.
- Consolidate partner expenditure for donor reporting.
- Record evaluation and verification outcomes in All Solutions.
- Project Financial Monitoring Generate monthly expenditure reports and verify transactions.
- Conduct project budget execution analysis.
- Review resource allocation and recommend reallocations where appropriate.
- Ensure financial execution aligns with donor and Hivos requirements.
- Complete annual forecasting and contribute to financial planning.
- Accounting and Reconciliation Review accounting records monthly for accuracy and discrepancies.
- Reconcile expenses and income recorded in All Solutions against donor financial reports.
- Ensure local compliance with authorities and financial institutions.
Requirements
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics or a related field.
- CPA, ACCA or related certification.
- 1-3 years’ experience in finance, including donor-funded programmes.
- Experience in grant administration, disbursement, monitoring and closure.
- Experience managing the full financial cycle of donor-funded programmes.
- Advanced knowledge of accounting principles.
- Experience with ERP/MIS systems and financial software.
- Experience overseeing audits, tax compliance and financial risks.
- Experience providing technical guidance and capacity building.
- Fluency in English is essential; French is an asset.
