Finance and Operations Manager

Chemonics International Inc., a US-based international development consulting firm, is accepting applications from qualified professionals for the anticipated USAID-funded Malawi Modern Cooking for Healthy Forests activity (“Tiphike Mwa Makono”). This five-year activity will promote sustainable forest management of selected landscapes and promote sustainable energy options in Malawi in order to sustainably maintain forest cover and reduce land-based emissions. By increasing the demand for alternative and efficient energy options and technologies and the supply of sustainable wood fuels from well managed forest resources, the Modern Cooking for Healthy Forests activity will help Malawi reduce unsustainable tree cutting in both public and customary forests, improve forest cover as well as conserve associated watersheds. We are looking for individuals that have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Required Qualifications:-

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration; – Minimum eight years of increasing responsibility in administrative and financial management of large-scale, complex international development assistance programs;- Detailed knowledge of and experience with financing and accounting procedures, regulations and systems for USAID projects;- Experience with human resources systems, policies, and procedures, and personnel management;- Ability to work effectively, independently, and in a team environment with a broad range of local and international personnel and partners;- Demonstrated leadership and management skills; experience mentoring and supervising staff at all levels within the organization. Demonstrated knowledge and experience of the procurement process from solicitation to award;- Extensive experience in development and managing a donor-funded grants program;- Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook) to implement, analyze, monitor, and manage goals, inputs, outcomes, and achievements;- Ability to develop working relationships and trust with public and private organizations;- Fluency in English; excellent written and oral communications skills.

Preferred Qualifications: – Master’s degree in accounting or business administration,- Proficiency in Chichewa or other applicable local language;- Experience managing and mentoring subcontractors and grantees;- Working proficiency in Dynamics 365 Office products.
