Million Memory Project Zimbabwe (MMPZ)

Applications are invited for the post of field officer in a growing Bulawayo based nongovernmental organisation.Million Memory Project Zimbabwe (MMPZ) is a private voluntary organization that facilitates the provision of psychosocial support for children and youths in distress. The organisation implements PSS interventions in and around Bulawayo Metro using Narrative therapy approaches that include memory work and experiential learning to help children and young people find spaces (both physical and psychological) where they can express themselves and deal with the challenges that they face.

Responsibilities

Plan and implement PSS activities (camps, memory work, experiential learning, counselling sessions etc; Plan and implement parenting skills meetings with parents and caregivers; Coordinate the activities of volunteers; Facilitate SRHR activities for youths; Prepare for, organize and facilitate workshops and trainings; Convene and facilitate children and youth support group meetings; Implement PSS/ Memory work activities in the community; Sensitize interested groups on PSS; Network with other service providers at programming level on welfare of children and youths.

Requirements

Degree/Diploma in Social sciences/Development Studies/Project Management; 2 years’ experience in dealing with children and youths; Excellent computer skills including Word, PowerPoint, Access and Excel; Excellent writing, reporting and interpersonal skills; Proficiency in English, Ndebele and Shona; A self-starter who can work with minimal supervision; A clean class 4 drivers licence an added advantage

Please note that this is a fixed-term contract of 3 months renewable subject to performance and availability of funding.
