Responsible for the provision of electrical support services to Harare Water and ensure optimum plant availability and equipment life span.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, specification, selection and approval of electrical plant installations.
- Maintenance engineering and management of electrical and electronic assets in Council.
- Management of City’s electrical energy bill.
- Preparation and control of capital and revenue budgets for the division.
- Safety, health, environment and quality assurance.
- Research and Project management.
- Supervision and performance management.
Requirements
- University degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Corporate Membership of the Zimbabwe Institution of Engineers or any relevant Institution and registration with Engineering Council of Zimbabwe.
- Seven (7) years post qualifying experience with at least three (3) years at a Senior level.
- A clean class four driver’s license a must.
- Hands-on experience with lighting, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning installations.
- Very sound knowledge and experience in electric motor technology and motor control technology.
- Knowledge and experience in hydraulics and pneumatics, including electro-hydraulics.
- Hands-on experience in transformer installations, electrical plant and equipment repairs.
- Hands-on experience in 33KV, 11KV, 3,3KV, 400V switch gear and power distribution systems.
- Competent in power factor correction systems and energy management.
- Experience with pumping plant controls, fan, blower and compressor controls and overhead cranes.
- Experience with water and wastewater treatment processes and controls.
- Practical experience with maintenance engineering and maintenance management.
- Practical experience in management of engineering projects is essential.
- Competent in process instrumentation and SCADA systems design, selection and evaluation.
- Computer literate MS word, Excel, Access, Power Point, MS Projects and AUTO-CAD.
