Director: Local NGO

Location: Harare

Applications are invited for the post of Director within an HIV and AIDS Sector NGO.

The position exists to assume total responsibility for the day to day running of the organization in pursuance of the organisation’s objectives.

Major Responsibilities
Manage and administer the organization; Initiate, coordinate and oversee programme planning, formulation, implementation, evaluation and reporting; Establish and maintain sound human resources management systems; Ensure sound financial management and budget control; Formulation of, and monitoring of policies for risk management and compliance; Provide strategic direction in view of a changing operating environment; Mobilise resources to ensure uninterrupted programme implementation and staff retention; Establish, manage and maintain relations with all stakeholders; Facilitate the work of the Board

Competencies for the post
Good organisational and coordination skills; Good communication and report writing skills; Good public relations; Ability to motivate staff; Excellent report generation is essential; Good analytical skills; Ability to work under pressure

Qualification and Experience
A relevant Master’s degree; At least eight years of relevant experience, five of which must be at senior management level; Experience in managing donor funds a must; Post graduate qualifications in NGO management and finance; Qualification and experience in Family Therapy would be an added advantage; Literate in relevant computer applications; Clean class 4 driver’s licence is a must
