Context Analysis: Local NGO
A women’s rights organization requires the services of a consultant (s) to conduct context analysis of Zimbabwe to feed into the economic justice project.
Proposed Methodology
In undertaking the assignment, the organization proposes the following methodology:
Submit inception report detailing work plan for review, feedback and approval; Review secondary materials; Design and submit data collection tools for review and approval; Pre-test data collection tools; Conduct fieldwork to collect data; Analyse data and draft report; Submit draft report for review and feedback; Submit final report based on comments received.
Key Criteria for Researcher(s)
Strong research experience, preferably in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies; A firm understanding of Zimbabwe’s development landscape; Strong knowledge of gender issues in the country; Experience with and demonstrable capacity to undertake a feminist approach and analysis; Strong ability to analyse policy documents and statistical data; A proven track record of research report writing; Ability to write and communicate in more than one official Zimbabwean language is also an advantage
Deliverables
The assignment will be made phases with the following deliverables1. Inception report including a work plan with proposed methodology and tools after consultation with the organization research team, 5 days after signing of the contract.2. First draft report: The consultant(s) is expected to send a first draft report by 20.02.2019, which will be checked and commented. A presentation workshop may also be organized for key actors involved in the assessment. Feedback to the draft will be given latest 7 days after receiving the draft.Final report and presentation workshop: The final report of the whole assignment will be made available latest by 08.03.2019 followed by a workshop discussing the findings, conclusions and recommendations in detail.
Report Outline
The Consultant will produce a substantive report of maximum 45 pages, outlining the issues addressed above as well as clear findings and recommendations.
