Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints for carpentry tasks.
• Measure, mark, and cut materials accurately.
• Build and install wooden structures such as frameworks, partitions, doors, windows, and roofing components in mine facilities
• Carry out routine repairs on wooden structures and fittings to maintain safety and functionality.
• Replace damaged or worn-out carpentry components in mine infrastructure.
• Perform routine maintenance as per schedule.
• Collaborate with engineers and other trades (plumbers, electricians, masons) to integrate carpentry work into broader mining infrastructure…
• Comply with SHEQ standards in line with ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 standards as well as other relevant legal frameworks.

Requirements

• Journeyman Class 2 Certificate in Carpentry and Joinery.
• A minimum of 3 O level passes.
• Technical subjects such as Woodwork or Building Studies are advantageous.
• Physical fitness.
• A minimum of 3 years traceable experience in a competent organization.
