Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill in the above-mentioned vacancy in the City Planning Division of the Department of Works.

Job Purpose

Responsible for the overall provision of leadership in the formulation and implementation of policies applicable to traffic and transportation systems in the City of Harare

Key Result Areas

• Assists the City Planner in the formulation and implementation of Traffic and Transportation Policies, Strategies and Systems in a sustainable way.
• Manages billboard advertising
• Designs and implements strategies for the improvement of transportation infrastructure.
• Develops and implement standard operating procedures.
• Advises on proposals for the medium and long-term development of the City’s traffic and transportation systems.
• Manages City roads trafficability
• Implements statutory duties in terms of Road Traffic Act and Municipal By-Laws
• Produces Traffic and Transportation Master and Local Plans.
• Staff development and performance management

Qualifications And Experience

• University Degree in Traffic and Transportation Planning
• Master’s Degree in Traffic and Transportation / Urban Planning will be an added advantage
• Corporate Membership of the relevant Institute a must
• 7 years post qualification experience appropriate to the discipline
• Clean Class 4 Driver’s Licence
