Position Overview
The Zimbabwe Red Cross Society is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Cashier to join its medical team at the Harare Clinic. This position is essential to the daily financial operations of the facility and involves direct engagement with patients regarding billing and payments. The ideal candidate must demonstrate accuracy, integrity, and strong interpersonal skills within a healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Process patient payments accurately and efficiently, including handling cash, credit cards, and checks
• Maintain and balance the cash drawer daily, ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded
• Assist patients with billing inquiries and provide clear explanations regarding account status
• Issue receipts and prepare required financial documentation
• Collaborate with the billing department to resolve discrepancies or payment issues
• Maintain compliance with organizational policies, including patient confidentiality
• Provide high-quality customer service to patients with professionalism and courtesy
• Support front desk operations including appointment scheduling and records management

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting or a related field
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a cashier, including at least two (2) years in a medical or healthcare setting
• Strong numeracy and attention to detail
• Proven customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team in a dynamic clinical environment
• Proficient in computer systems and accounting software, especially ERP or OmniSol
• Knowledge of medical billing or coding is an added advantage
